Join the WashU Arboretum for a hands-on lesson about identifying winter trees with Tyson research scientist Erin O’Connell. The event will involve a short presentation on how to identify trees based on characteristics like bark, twigs, and buds, and an outdoor practice session in the WashU Arboretum. No prior botanical knowledge necessary!
About Erin O’Connell, research and conservation project coordinator at Tyson Research Center
Erin collects and curates data for long-term flora and fauna monitoring projects at Tyson and in the greater St. Louis region. She helps manage Tyson’s monitoring programs for plants, bats, deer, and megafauna, and assists with Tyson’s contributions to large-scale research networks.
